Pickin’ and Musing: December

December was filled with family and rediscovering my 80s craft mom persona. I filled our home with paper stars, paper chains and tinsel garland from estate sales. I’ve always wanted to try block or lino printing and decided to just give it a try with potatoes. It was messy in the best way. There was something cathartic about watching my niece and nephews rip open this hand painted wrapping paper that I spent hours creating :)

Wrapping is the best part of the gift.

This year I dug deep into my craft cart and used all the bits of ribbon and paper I’ve collected over the year. I enjoyed giving each family unit a color palette.

Star light, star bright.

I came across this perfect little flush mount last month at Architectural Antiques. It felt appropriate for this grouping.

Make it stand out

I spent some time digging through the Orijin stone yard for the perfect powder bathroom sink. I think we found the winner.

Parting Thought

Paper chains aren’t just for kids. These made me so happy I made a few more.
